harley is the part that stayed after Cade Enslin's old band ended, a project he built in Seattle in 2018 and carried to Nashville, where it grew back into a full band. Melody comes first, lyrics second, and the riffs get written last to serve them, which is why the songs open unassumingly and end up much louder. The early catalog leaned synthetic; by 2023 Prelude Press was hearing "grunge roots and modern pop textures," and the sound has kept moving toward guitar-driven, early-2000s-leaning pop rock since. The subject barely moves: what a person does with a feeling once the person who caused it is gone, and it travels without help.
